Getting ready for some serious Christmas shopping? If this year you want to do it the old-fashioned way and wander around the streets for charming boutiques, you may want to avoid crowds.
As COVID-19 is still a major concern worldwide, shopping online has gained even more popularity, but some of us still want to do it personally, especially when buying gifts for loved ones. Luckily, Google Maps has come up with a new feature that helps us stay safe by avoiding the holiday shopping crowds. Area Busyness will start working globally on Android and iOS starting this holiday season.
The “Area Busyness” feature offers data on where the popular neighborhoods are located, while the app’s “Directory” tab is letting users know about the stores and facilities of places like malls and airports, showing which amenities are available.
Among other features, Google Maps is also developing its grocery pickup tracking feature that will cover more stores across the US.
Moreover, the app will soon be able to list price ranges for restaurants across the US, as well as additional information like outdoor seating availability, or delivery options.
