The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones went on sale a while ago and the Pixel camera has been getting good reviews ever since. Reviewers loved the Super-Zoom lens technology and the AI used to bring a number of other innovative features to it.
But it seems like Google had one more ace up its sleeve; the tech giant just pushed out a new update that allows the camera system on Pixel 3 to rival all others out there: Night Sight.
“Night Sight constantly adapts to you and the environment, whether you’re holding Pixel or propping it on a steady surface. Before you press the shutter button, Night Sight measures your natural hand shake, as well as how much motion is in the scene.”
Night Sight is a mode dedicated to nocturnal photography – it brightens up the shots and brings out more detail and color. It will work in different ways, depending how you’re holding the phone and it will pay attention to your hand movements as well as the amount of motion in the scene, minimizing motion blur by shortening exposures.
By using machine learning, Night Sight helps the camera adapt to the lighting conditions it encounters and also balances color, so that the subjects can look more natural.
The update will come to the Pixel 3 and 3XL phones in the following days. Both the front and the back cameras will have access to the feature.
