GoSun already prides itself with a few solar cookers, all of them funded via Kickstarter, such as the GoSun Sport, GoSun Grill and the GoSun GO.
The newest member to join the family is the GoSun Fusion, a cooker that promises to feed a family of five via its solar cooking technology. It also works thanks to a solar-electric heating system during the night, when the skies are overcast or even during heavy rain.
The Fusion is charged via a solar power bank and a solar panel and employs the use of a thermometer as well – a Bluetooth one though – that lets you know when the food is ready.
The Fusion doesn’t need propane or charcoal to function – it’s all about sunlight, which focuses in the vacuum tube through parabolic reflectors which then convert it into heat that can go up to 550 degrees.
The vacuum tube does more than that: it also serves as an insulator and keeps the food hot.
The Fusion will be sold for $499 and there’s also accessories available for it, which are sold separately.
It’s expected to become widely available starting April.
