The 360 video is gaining a lot of popularity recently, but people seemed to forget that sound enhances the experience of video tenfold. Until now, that was.
Zoom Sound Lab has come up with a Virtual Reality Audio Recorder, the H3-VR, which not only presents itself as a solution to capture and process 360 audio more easily, but it’s also a portable device that fits in most bags or backpacks.
Keep in mind that this process normally requires a multi-piece rig and some specialized software. Now, the H3-VR plans to make all that history.

The device records four channels of audio by using a 4-capsule Ambisonics mic and it has a 6-axis motion sensor which provides it with Auto Mic Position and Level Detection. This means that no matter how you choose to position the recorder, the 360 audio and video orientations will stay aligned.
The device is set to debut at the IBC Show in Amsterdam, which will take place between the 14th and 18th of September.
