Halo Infinite Release Date Within Three to Four Week Window

PC: Xbox

When more Halo Infinite information dropped at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021, fans were shocked and disappointed that the game had a “Holiday 2021” release rather than an exact release date. Several thought the game could still be delayed as games even further out like Starfield has set dates. However, this may not be the case and actually could be part of Xbox’s larger plans.

In an interview with podcast Dropped Frames and reported by VGC, Executive Vice President, Gaming at Microsoft Phil Spencer let fans know that the game will absolutely be dropping this holiday season, but the company is deciding how to fit it in with the other games scheduled to release. By scheduling around these releases, Xbox gives enough space for each game to shine and avoiding overlap. For example, one potentially game releasing is Call of Duty: Vanguard, a first-person shooter surely to have similar fanbases.

However, Spencer did reiterate that the company does have a couple days in mind: “we know kind of our range in the three-to-four week range.” Additionally, the team at 343 Industries has confidence that it will meet the release window: “I feel good about the confidence we (Spencer and the team at 343 Industries) have in both quality and getting the game done.”

While fans may have to wait for the release date, it may come sooner than people expect as Spencer anticipates having a clearer outlook on the release schedule over the summer.

Regardless of when the exact date is, Halo Infinite is shaping up to be a potentially monumental entry in the series both in terms of its campaign and multiplayer.
