Update: We tested the tablet at MWC last week, in Barcelona. The PC Mode remains the main highlight, since with a keyboard attached you can easily work as you would on a laptop or desktop. There are four speakers from Harman Kardon which make the audio experience really great and, if you’re the type to use tablets to take pictures, there’s an 8MP front camera and a 13MP main camera. No tablet would deserve its name without a stylus , so check it out in the video above! Price starts at €499 ($616).
Official specs:
- 10.8-inch curved glass screen with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution
- Kirin 960 octa-core chip
- 4 speakers; no headphone jack
- M Pen stylus with 4,096-level pressure sensitivity
- pogo-pin connection for optional keyboard
- battery lasts 10 hours of 1080p video playback
Huawei is expected to launch a flagship tablet at MWC 2018. Today, Winfuture.de posted a leak with specifications and renders for the MediaPad M5 10 Pro.
While the info remains unconfirmed by Huawei until Mobile World Congress, Winfuture.de has proven to be a reliable insider source, so there’s a big chance the details below are accurate. In any case, if the flagship Huawei tablet we’ll be there, we will definitely be around to check it out.
According to the sources, Huawei will launch three new Mediapad tablets available in two sizes:
- 8-inches for the MediaPad M5 8 and MediaPad M5 10 models
- 10-inches for the MediaPad M5 10 Pro model
Today’s renders are all about the flagship Huawei MediaPad M5 10 Pro tablet, whose specs also look pretty good:
- 10.8 inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution
- 4 GB RAM
- 64 GB storage
- 13 MP rear camera
- 8 MP front camera
- Kirin 960 chipset
- Aluminum chassis
The tablet will have LTE support and the M-Pen stylus, Huawei obviously intending the MediaPad M5 Pro to be used in a professional setting.
While the chipset is a powerhouse also used in the Huawei P10 and Mate 9, the OS seems to lag behind. Winfuture claims that the MediaPad M5 10 Pro will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat.
Hopefully, that won’t be the case and we’ll see a newer Android version, but stay tuned! We’ll be at the scene, in Barcelona, to bring you the latest updates with Yue by our side.
