Huawei Watch GT Leak Suggests The Smartwatch Will Have 14 Days Worth Of Battery Life

The Huawei Watch 2 is still one of the best-rated smartwatches available on the market, in spite of having been launched well over a year ago. Though the company has kept quiet about smartwatches since, it does not mean they haven’t been hard at work.

According to a leak coming in from WinFuture, Huawei is preparing a new smartwatch titled the Huawei Watch GT Classic, alongside a second sport variant, the Huawei Watch GT Sport.

You will be able to differentiate the two by the colors used on the bezel and the band: the sport version will be completely black while the Classic version will sport a brown bracelet.

In spite of the different names, both models feature the same “Multi-Sport” and “Sport Coach” functions. If they are the same thing or feature different sports or exercises, that remains to be seen. It appears that the Watch GT will have two side-mounted buttons and a round OLED display measuring 1.39 inches, which makes it much bigger than its predecessor.

There’s not a lot of information concerning most of the features and the sensors but NFC and GPS seem to be confirmed on it, as well as a water resistance rating, alongside a pretty large battery of 420mAh.

Allegedly, the watch will deliver power-saving modes that will be able to offer 14 days worth of battery life on one single charge. Most likely, in order to achieve this performance, Huawei is getting a helping hand from a new chipset, but there’s been no information about it in the leak.

The report also mentions that the Huawei Watch GT might be unveiled during the Huawei Mate 20 event set to take place later this month. As far as pricing goes, it’s expected it will land somewhere around the 199-229 Euro price tag.
