We can almost smell the fresh, dizzy perfume of the approaching weekend. It’s time to get inspired folks, and what better way to do that than to drool over the insane drone photography done by Aydın Büyüktaş. This guy’s work has reached Inception-level #actionmagic
Realistic aerial views of cities and seaside resorts didn’t quite cut it for him, so photographer Aydin Büyüktaş took a leaf from Inception, the movie. Remember that surrealistic scene where the city bends?
Well, Büyüktaş made entire cities that are NOT figments of our imagination bend slightly with the help of a camera-equipped quadcopter. It wasn’t easy, as you can imagine. His “Flatland” project took months of dedication, two of which he spend just figuring out how to make those shots look as if they were curved by a giant. 3D software helped the photographer scout locations that were consequently shot dozens of time, from different angles and altitudes.
Each image took days of editing and compositing. When they were ready, Büyüktaş uploaded them on his website for everyone to see. Here’s a couple of the amazing photos that will make you think twice about the things you can accomplish with a consumer drone:
