Reverse-engineer expert Jane Manchun Wong has found out that Instagram is currently working on a co-watch feature which might allow the users to watch videos from a playlist or clips suggested by Instagram, with their friends.
We can’t tell for sure what form the feature will get, the co-watch content code that Wong spotted only mentions the words ‘playlist’ and ‘suggested’. We don’t know at the moment if the users will watch the clips picture-in-picture, in order to see each other’s reactions or if another method will be used.
Instagram has not released any statements concerning the findings but keep in mind that, even if the code exists, it’s not a guarantee the feature will ever see the light of day.
