OnePlus Nord is the much-anticipated device that will bring the company back into the budget-friendly sector. It’s OnePlus’s first phone in years that will cost under $500, and it looks like it will challenge the likes of Google Pixel 4a and iPhone SE 2.
OnePlus is getting ready to unveil the Nord on the 21st of July in the world’s first AR smartphone launch. The Shenzhen based company has been teasing everyone about it on Instagram for the past few weeks.
In its most recent teaser, the company reveals the new smartphone will have an ultra-wide selfie camera. In the video, OnePlus says that more than 3000 people die every year due to selfie stick-related accidents and that with the new selfie camera, users won’t need a selfie stick. So will the OnePlus Nord save lives? We’ll see.
After focusing more on premium devices, and releasing some very appreciated smartphones like the OnePlus 8 Series, the company is making the “premium OnePlus experience accessible to more users.”
The OnePlus Nord will pack a Snapdragon 765G processor, and it is reported to have a 6.55-inch 90Hz OLED display, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
It’s not long until the official launch of the OnePlus Nord, and with the current smartphone market being so shaky, a decent affordable smartphone might just be the recipe for success.
