While we were excited to see the new HTC U12 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, it was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately, developer LlabTooFeR has released leaked specifications for the Taiwanese company’s newest smartphone. #mobilemagic
LlabTooFeR has leaked accurate information in the past, so this newest leak seems promising. No renders of the new HTC U12 (named HTC Imagine in the leak) were reported – the above image is of the HTC U11 – but the leaks do give us a general glimpse of what the new phone might look like and how it might operate.
The HTC U12 will have a 5.99 inch QHD+ display and will use the famed Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It will have up to 6GB of RAM and will run Android Oreo and the HTC Sense interface. HTC Sense allows you to trigger functions by simply squeezing the sides of the phone, something that really made the HTC U11 shine.
As for the cameras on the new HTC U12, you’ll find an 8MP shooter with HTC Face Unlock on the front and a dual shooter on the back. That back cameras will have 16MP + 12MP sensors.
