LG To Unveil “Wearable Robot” At IFA Berlin

Credit: LG

The new lower-body exoskeleton from LG bears the CLOi brand and it consists of a pair of robotic legs that will make it easier for the user to stand, walk and work, with the aim to reduce physical strain and risk of injury for those who work jobs that require them to be on their feet all day.

The SuitBot has joints that rotate naturally and it comes with an AI that will learn and get better at the job as it analyzes data from both the user and the environment. Thanks to that, the SuitBot can suggest the user better stances.

Yes, it’s not the first exosuit we’ve seen in the past few years but LG might be the first company to bring the concept to a commercial audience.

LG said about the suit in a press release that is has “a comfortable fit and naturally rotating joints allow the CLOi SuitBot to move in a more relaxed and natural way to enhance the lower body while walking, standing, or working. Its sandal-type shoes and automatic adjustment feature allow the wearer to get in and out of the suit more easily, differentiating LG CLOi SuitBot from many other exoskeletons.”

We don’t have a lot of details about how the suit works, the cost and when it will be available but LG said it will most likely reveal the SuitBot during the IFA Berlin next week, and will offer more information about it then.
