Long Live The Pokemons! Now, They’re Up For Grabs In AR On Android And iOS

We hadn’t heard from Pokemon in years! The series were no longer transmitted on television and their fans seemed to have outgrown them. Yet, that didn’t stop Niantic and Nintendo to offer us one of the most promising AR mobile gamesPokemon Go #realitymagic

The companies developed the game after an April Fools’ joke became a dream for many YouTubers , who pleaded for a return of their favorite characters in mobile form, at least. Now, Niantic is making that dream a reality as Pokemon Go has been released on Google Play Store and Apple Store (if you can’t download it yet, you’re probably living in US or Japan, where the game is set to hit a bit later).

The idea is simple: players can go around town and find Pokemons in unexpected places, thanks to their camera, sensors and GPS signal. Then, they can start hitting “gyms” to engage in battles, like in the series. The game is free of charge but comes with in-app purchases, anywhere from $0.99 to $99.99. If money is the least of your worries, then wait this month for the release of a bracelet-like wearable that allows you to play the game without unlocking your phone.

So, who’s gonna be your champion – Charizard, Pikachu, Venusaur?
