Meet the Art Lens Petzval 55 Mm F/1.7 for Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras

The first Lomography Petzval Art Lens with full-frame mirrorless cameras in mind is here.

Available in satin finished, black painted brass or in black anodized aluminum, the new Petzval mm f/1.7 comes standard for Sony E, Canon RF, and Nikon Z.

The lens features an optic able to obtain crystal clarity and swirly bokeh too. Having a maximum aperture of f/1.7, the lens can produce strongly contrasting images at smaller apertures but it’s also able to offer a discreet, rendering when using larger apertures.

Moreover, Petzval 55 mm f/1.7 brings a dedicated bokeh control ring, making possible the adjustment of the bokeh on seven levels, for even greater pics!

The Dual Aperture System

The lenses not only give you a versatile, top-less aperture diaphragm but also the option to integrate special aperture plates whenever you feel like, with various shapes of bokeh, allowing you to explore your creativity.

The need for better video performance is real, so Petzval 55 mm f/1.7 was designed to be more adaptable for filmmakers. Therefore, they can adjust focus and f-stop while the camera is rolling, due to the new long-throw focusing ring and stopless aperture diaphragm.

The lens is available for preorder here from $399 to $499 and it’s estimated to arrive in July-August 2019.
