Best Microsoft Games Announced at E3 2019

Microsoft started off E3 running, showcasing an enormous lineup of 60 games as well as several other related gaming announcements. One of their biggest non-game announcements was Project Scarlett, their next-generation console set to be released with launch title Halo Infinity during the holiday season 2020.

Additionally, Xbox introduced its Xbox Game Pass for PC. Starting open beta today for $9.99/month, users can play many of the classic Xbox games on their PC including the Halo Master Chief Collection. Fans can also purchase the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a discounted price of $1. This pass will come with Xbox Live Gold and both Xbox Game Pass for Console and for PC.

However, as the focus of the conference was the games, here are all the games showcased at Microsoft’s E3 presentation:

The Outer Worlds

Set in a system run by corporations, you appear to be a challenger to this long established rule. Your actions have consequences, centering you as a hero, villain, or psychopath. The Outer Worlds is set to release October 25th, 2019.

Bleeding Edge

This 3rd person action game is built as a team game. Gamers will be able to play as a wide array of cyborgs. The Technical Alpha opens June 27th.

Ori and the Will of Wisps

Releasing February 11th, 2020, Ori and the Will of Wisps offers an enhanced sequel to the highly-acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest.

Minecraft Dungeons

Based in the aesthetics of Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons offers a dungeon crawler experience to fans. Complete with enemy battles, 4-player local and online co-op, Minecraft Dungeons will be coming to both Xbox and Nintendo Switch Spring 2020.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Enter into the Star Wars universe and become a Jedi in a timeline where they seemingly are missing. Releasing November 15th, 2019.

Blair Witch

For fans of horror, Blair Witch offers an immersive first-person horror experience. Showcasing a filming mechanic similar to the Outlast series, Blair Witch is sure to frighten when it releases August 30th.

Cyberpunk 2077

More information was showcased on the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. Set to release April 16th, 2020, the game will feature a futuristic metropolitan open world with branching storylines where body modifications are a key element to gameplay. Also, Keanu Reeves is now a character in the game.

Spiritfarer

A 2D exploring adventure, you will guide a your ship/home out at sea, growing as expanding as you meet new people.

Battle Toads

One of the classics in gaming history, Battle Toads is finally back with an up to 3-player couch co-op, beat ‘em up style action. We do not know if it will be as difficult as the original.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright

With its arts and craft style aesthetic, RPGTime: The Legend of Wright will bring gamers into its world. Travelling through comic books, jumping across 3D dioramas, and drawing and erasing your way across each level, this endearing game will be out in 2020.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Built from real-time 4K captures, Microsoft Flight Simulator will let you fly over the world in stunning detail.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition

This classic strategy game will be playable in 4K and fully remastered audio. Additionally, a new campaign called “The Last Khans” has been added to this fall release.

Wasteland 3

Set in post apocalyptic Colorado, this strategy game will be launching to PCs and Xbox later this year.

Psychonauts 2

Double Fine Productions, makers of the Psychonauts series, announced they have joined Microsoft with a trailer for Psychonauts 2.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

This Lego game will be coming in 2020. What makes it unique is that it will feature all nine Star Wars films in one game.

Dragonball Z: Kakarot

What appears to be a 3D fighting style Dragonball game (as opposed to Dragon Ball FighterZ’s 2D fighter), Dragonball Z: Kakarot will release early 2020.

12 Minutes

As a man is stuck in a time loop, he must continue to go back in time to save his pregnant significant other. Viewing the scene from above, you will navigate the different scenarios in hopes of saving both you and your loved one.

Way to the Woods

Coming in 2020, play as a deer and its fawn as you travel through various human environments trying to find your way home.

Gears 5

Releasing September 10th, 2019, the latest addition to this iconic franchise will include a new Escape Mode, a 3-player co-op experience where you infiltrate the hive, plant a bomb and escape. You can also create your own hive systems to challenge friends. If you pre-order or play in the first week, you will receive a Terminator character pack.

Dying Light 2

A new take on a post apocalyptic world, a strange virus has started affecting people. You play as a character sworn the keep resisting and fighting against this biological terror. The twist: you are infected.

Forza Horizon 4 Lego Speed Champions

On June 13th, Forza will now include Lego inspired cars, drivers and courses. Hopefully the song “Everything is Awesome” is included too and not just part of the trailer.

Gears Pop

A mobile version of the Gears games, Gears Pop will be available for pre-order soon.

State of Decay 2: Heartland

A new expansion set available now, you can play two alternative paths to deepen the lore of the State of Decay world.

Phantasy Star Online 2

One of the most beloved online RPGs in Japan, Phantasy Star Online 2 will release on console next spring. This will be free to play, with all content available, and will allow cross play.

Crossfire X

This shooter will come to console in 2020.

Tales of Arise

The newest of the Tales series of games, this will release in 2020

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 will release September 13th, 2019. In the meantime, you can enjoy Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. This will include Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with all DLC. Additionally, as long as you have The Handsome Collection you will have free access to Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary DLC.

Elden Ring

George R.R. Martin’s foray into the gaming realm, Elden Ring harkens back to a time of wizards, warriors and a mythical adventure.
