Microsoft Might Be Planning To Rival Apple’s AirPods With Wireless Surface Earbuds

Microsoft unveiled its Surface headphones back in 2018 – the over the hear headphones are large and feature noise cancellation and Cortana integration but it looks like the company has its sights on manufacturing a worthy rival for Apple’s AirPods now.

According to sources familiar with the company’s plans, who have spoken to Thurrot, the earbuds are currently in development and carry the codename ‘Morrison’.

The earbuds are wireless and are described as looking similar to the AirPods and will most likely arrive with the same features as the Surface Headphones but what exactly will make them different from their larger siblings -except for the size- and what will put them ahead of the AirPods, remains to be seen.

Thurrot‘s sources are short on any other details about these alleged earbuds and it’s unknown when Microsoft will choose to release them. We’re still early into 2019 so we might get to see them sometime in the fall, but don’t take our word for it.
