Vice President and Head of Product at Google Stadia John Justice has left the company, according to 9to5google.
John Justice often served as the company’s public liaison, speaking with media and content creators about Google Stadia and its direction. As of this reporting, the company has yet to make an official statement on its website or social media about the departure.
IGN has also reported that six other Stadia members have moved from Stadia. These six join Haven Entertainment Studios, a game development company found by Jade Raymond, former head of the now-shuttered Google’s in-house game studio. These staff members played roles as concept artist, publishers, UX researchers, and more, seemingly integral to game development. Haven Entertainment Studios, for their part, has already garnered support from Sony to develop games for their platform.
The state of Google Stadia has not been great recently, with little good news coming out of the company since its launch. With the departure of John Justice and the closure of Stadia’s in-house game development team, it is unclear what the road map is for the future of Stadia.
