Apple’s new laptop, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is here! It doesn’t bring mind-blowing upgrades, but if you’re a MacBook user it will give you plenty of reasons to check it out this holiday season.
The new MacBook is definitely bigger, with a 16-inch diagonal and should provide a better user experience thanks to an all improved “Magic” keyboard.
There are two variants you can choose from, for starters. The base one costs $2,399 and brings a newer GPU (compared to the 15-inch model) and double the storage. This means you should expect an AMD Radeon Pro 5300M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 and 512GB PCIe-based onboard SSD.
You’ll run your program on the same 2.6GHz 6-core 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 4.5 GHz), though.
How does the $2799 MacBook justify its price?
Well, Apple outfitted this one with 1TB PCIe-based onboard SSD and the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory.
If you want even more horsepower, you can always configure your laptop with up to 64GB of RAM, 8TB of storage (ok, that’s crazy!), and a Radeon Pro 5500M GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.
As for its overall design, we are talking about a bigger MacBook here, and a Pro one at that, so you know it’s definitely thicker than the 15-inch one. It also weighs about 4.3 pounds (1.95kg) due to the larger battery and better cooling system.
Right now you can get it from Apple’s website, but it will start shipping and reach stores by next week.
