New NES and SNES Games Heading to Nintendo Switch Online

[adrotate group = “15”]

Nintendo Switch Online users get access to a vast digital library of games largely from the SNES and NES eras. Every so often, Nintendo updates what games are in the library for users to play. This month, we will be getting four new games for the Nintendo Switch Online library.

Probably the most exciting is Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. A sequel to Donkey Kong Country, this game focuses on Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong’s mission to save Donkey Kong from series antagonist, King K. Rool. This is also Dixie Kong’s first appearance and added a new movement style for the side-scrolling platforming game.

Other games coming include Mario’s Super Picross, The Peace Keepers, and S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team. Mario’s Super Picross is a puzzle game where you use clues to remove squares from a grid in order create a hidden picture. The Peace Keepers is a side scrolling, beat ‘em ups style game. S.C.A.T. is similar to The Peace Keepers but focuses more on shooting rather than beating enemies up.

To note, Donkey Kong Country 2, Mario’s Super Picross, and The Peace Keepers originally come from the SNES and S.C.A.T. from the NES. All games will be available for free with a Nintendo Switch Online account on September 23rd.
