You know how sometimes you feel like one artist is just being overplayed on the radio? And how you feel like you’d do just about anything to never hear from them again? While we can’t do that while listening to traditional radio, we can with Spotify.
The app has recently and quietly released a new feature that allows you to block any artist from appearing in playlists, charts, radio or your personal libraries.
You can toggle the feature on or off in the menu bar of every artist page and once the artist is blocked, Spotify will do its best to remove said artist from playing anywhere for you. The feature can’t track the artist if they appear to be featured on someone else’s song though, so keep that in mind.
Also, they might still appear listed in playlists, so hopefully you don’t actually hate the artist so much that the mere sight of their name will be enough to throw you in a fit of rage.
For the time being, the feature is available via the Spotify mobile app but has not been rolled out to the desktop app or any web players just yet.
