As part of the weekly development updates from the team at 343 Industries, news on a bug fix for a Seasonal Challenge, a Black History Month nameplate, competitive series updates, multiplayer quit bans, and… potentially “a new place and way to play.”
A report by Video Games Chronicle seems to point to the game either going to the Epic Store or perhaps a custom game browser. Their reporting demonstrates that Microsoft and Epic have a close relationship, as well as illustrating Microsoft’s desire to make the game more accessible.
Halo’s legacy has become synonymous with Xbox and new games in the series drive console sales. The Master Chief Collection comes with six of the legacy title for Halo, including the original three games. With the release of the Master Chief Collection on PC, gamers were able to experience the legendary series on an entirely new platform.
Although it is unclear which platform the game may be released on, it will mean more players will get access to the game. However, the Epic Store or a browser would not necessarily be a new “way to play;” only a new place.
Perhaps too farfetched, here’s to hoping it comes to a different console or platform!
