During the same Nikola World event where Nikola Motors introduced its electric jet ski, the company also showcased its four-wheel electric off-roader, dubbed the NZT.
NZT stands for ‘net zero toll’, a pun on its no-emissions capabilities. The vehicle offers quite some power though, and it’s all packed up in a dune buggy-like package.
It features 35 inch tires and has a motor at each wheel but you won’t have to worry about all the dust and dirt that might get in your face – the NZT can completely seal you away from the elements and it also comes with an HVAC system for either heating or cooling.
The dashboard hosts a 13 inch display and a 7 inch instrument cluster, both of them with an IP68 waterproof rating. They update via over the air software updates, so that is another worry off the shoulders of the owner.
Probably the best thing about the NZT is the fact that it has 590 horsepower and the company claims that it can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4 seconds. The car will also be able to go for 150 miles on a full charge, thanks to a pretty serious 125kWh pack. Where will it fit? We don’t know yet but we’re sure curious to find out, whenever Nikola Motors will release more details about the vehicle.
It can spend 30 minutes in water up to a meter deep and has a 3,000-pound towing capacity as well.
Want one? I bet you do, but thing is, it has a starting price of $80,000, so you might want to think again. Nonetheless, it’s still an impressive piece of machinery and has a production date set for 2021 – I’m letting you know that just in case you wanted to start saving up.
