If it’s December 2017, we’re bound to see Star Wars merchandise everywhere. As well as partnerships. Nissan just teamed up with Lucasfilm to come up with seven revamped cars in Star Wars style #automagic
At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan revealed seven of their vehicles after a Star Wars makeover. As the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere approaches, more and more brands are trying to attract fans’ attention with themed products. Nissan, though, hopes to do much more – open a dialogue about an autonomous future.
Its 2018 models will feature standard automatic emergency braking and two of them will get to show off what ProPilot Assist can do. As we know, the system is capable of steering and braking at highways speeds on its own, without the driver’s intervention. The 2018 Nissan Leaf and Nissan Rogue already debuted in the fall with a fully autonomous driving system and odds are Renaul and Mitsubishi will take a leaf of their book by 2022.
For now, the car company hopes to excite customers enough with the suits of cars that were inspired after the Jedi series. Altima, Maxima, two Rogue SUVs and a Titan pickup reflected characters’ personalities from Star Wars at the show. All of them look fierce, either relying on red lighting to give Kylo Ren vibes or adding BB-8 to resemble a starship.
Unfortunately, the cars won’t be up for purchase by the public. You’ll be able to see them in person though if you pass by the L.A. Auto Show this month or the Detroit one in January.
