In the 90s, Sailor Moon gave us a taste for anime. The group of magical girls who needed to save Earth from villains, while trying to lead a normal life with all the troubles of youth, was more than endearing – it was captivating. Years later, most Millenials (myself included) recall the manga series with nostalgia, as it shaped their childhood. It’s no wonder a company like Meitu would want to tap into those feelings. The smartphone manufacturer has just released a Sailor Moon Pretty Soldier Edition of their Meitu M8 #mobilemagic
Meitu’s latest smartphone release is a special edition of Sailor Moon, the manga of the 90s. Meitu M8 is bubblegum pink, features the golden silhouette of Sailor Moon on the back and comes with a selfie stick to go. This one bares the symbols of Sailor Moon, a golden heart and bow. It’s feminine, cute and an excellent gift for a nostalgic like you or your child.
Besides a pretty exterior, Meitu M8 boasts solid specs. We’re talking about a 5.2-inch display, Helio X20 processor, 4GB of RAM, a lasting 3,000mAh battery and a great camera module. The phone is equipped with a whopping 12MP front-facing camera and a 21MP rear camera. As you can imagine, this makes it a great selfie shooter. Check Chinese superstar Angelababy unbox it here.
And, in case Sailor Moon is not your thing, you can grab the phone in blue, red or white or go for another iconic design – the Hello Kitty Edition.
Meitu is planning to release the phone this Friday. Only 10,000 units will be available for purchase on their official website. The price for one of these cute smartphones? 2999 (about $435).
