Nothing Ear 1 Earbuds Go Up In Price By 50%, Company Blames Rising Costs

If you were looking to buy the Nothing earbuds you’d better do it fast because soon, the Ear 1 will go from $99 to $149.

In a move blamed by Nothing on inflation and rising costs, the Nothing Ear 1 earbuds will cost 50% more starting with October 26th. Right now, they’re still available at their old price but not for long.

Carl Pei, the Nothing CEO, explained that, even beyond the rising costs, the increase in price reflects the growing list of features of the buds – and of the people working on them.

“When we started developing it, we only had 3 engineers.

A year later, we have 185. During this time, the Ear 1 has received 15 firmware and tuning updates, and is a completely different product to when we launched it,” the CEO explained.

The earbuds are still available at their old MSRP but only for a week. If you were waiting for a price drop to buy them, maybe it’s time to bite the bullet because that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Either way, even at the new MSRP, the Nothing Ear 1 buds do have an eye-catching design, with that transparent body, and the specs list punches way above its price range.
