With Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus 6 officially announced (see specs and features here), interested consumers have finally been given concrete images, specs, and pricing. However, users still want to know one thing: will it survive the durability test?
The test used is now quite standard, having been put forth by Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel.
Highlights of the video include:
- Gorilla Glass 5 was used on both sides of the phone, a premium standard for smartphones, and was validated using the scratch test.
- The camera glass and finger print scanner cannot be scratched with a razor blade.
- The screen puts up with open flame for 20 seconds or so, after which the exposed pixels die.
- The OnePlus 6 passed the bend test without any cracks. The frame in its entirety is left intact and the glass unshattered.
