If OnePlus was hoping to keep the upcoming OnePlus 7 a secret, they didn’t try very hard because there have been leaks left and right since the internet caught a whiff of the handset.
For starters, CEO Pete Lau took to Weibo to address the heavy criticism the company received after it gave up on the idea of having a headphone jack on the OnePlus 6. He still stands by the company’s decision and notes that OnePlus is currently focusing on ‘polishing’ the wireless headphones and adds that, while the Bullet Wireless earbuds are ‘very good’, they still have the potential to be ‘even more extreme’.
This statement led a lot of people to believe that OnePlus is working on a new pair of wireless earbuds to accompany the OnePlus 7.
Soon after that, a press render showing the back of the phone in three color variations leaked online via Tiger Mobiles. The phone is presented in Black/Yellow, Black/Purple and Cyan/Grey variants.
The render shows a pop-up selfie camera and a triple camera arrangement on the back, alongside the OnePlus logo.
The latest leak that followed the press renders comes from an accessory maker that showcases a see-through case for the OnePlus 7, alongside the phone’s design, front and back this time.
Judging by the images, the device will have a SIM card and an USB-C port and, as expected, there’s not a headphone jack in sight or a fingerprint scanner.
While the phone will most likely arrive with an in-screen sensor, it’s doubtful we’ll see any headphone wires attached to it when it will be launched.
But we’re looking forward to see the new wireless earbuds design OnePlus has prepared for the users.
