The OnePlus 7 Pro wowed us all when it launched but, by the looks of it, some issues need to be addressed. Some of the customers have started filing complains left and right after purchasing them, with some even being upset about the quality of the photos, even in well-lit environments.
Other users reported phantom touchscreen taps which, after further inspection don’t even seem to stem from any particular app, be it third-party or not.
OnePlus was quick to address the issue with a list of fixes it’s pushing with its latest update.
Among them, OnePlus says it will optimize the Double Tap to Wake gesture, fix Bluetooth audio delay when playing games as well as improve image quality in HDR scenarios and in low light.
I’ve attended the OnePlus 7 Pro launch event myself and had a play-around with the smartphone and haven’t noticed any of these issues with my own eyes.
Albeit, the lighting in the presentation room was artificial and quite different from the rest of the rooms and I couldn’t vouch for the camera’s performance in either natural or low-light environments.
However, some of the users who received the update continue to say that, while the camera improvements are somewhat visible, they are still not on par with what they have been led to believe and accuse OnePlus of false advertising.
In addition to that, the alleged ghost touches don’t seem to have been fixed either. Some users report that, after the update, ‘the refresh rate is acting weirdly’ and that ‘the scrolling experience is really bad’, while others do not detect these problems on their devices at all.
