With Hasselblad as their wingman, OnePlus is ready to reach for the stars. The company wants to release at least three more phones this year, after unveiling the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. One of them is this month’s OnePlus Nord CE 5G, while the other is the OnePlus 9T. If you’re wondering which one to go for, here’s our take on them.
This June 10, OnePlus Nord CE 5G will go out; specs haven’t been confirmed yet but we can offer an educated guess.
OnePlus Nord CE 5G: Great price!
First, price. Let’s not kid ourselves – money matters. So, if you’re looking for a cheaper model, go for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. It’s a no-brainer; this phone will offer 5G and all the core features of the Nord series for less than the original Nord. That means around $400 dollars, roughly.
The best deal out of the two is hard to pinpoint. If you ask me, OnePlus 9T could be a bit pricier than the vanilla OnePlus 9, which means we’re looking at a $799 price tag. Essentially, you could buy two Nord CE 5G phones for that amount.
OnePlus 9T vs OnePlus Nord CE 5G: Performance
But the hardware gap between the two is noticeable. OnePlus 9 T will come with a Snapdragon 888, maybe even the Plus version of the chip. The new Nord CE 5G is likely to run on the 750G which is great for the price but you will know, deep down, that you’re not working on the best machine there is.
When it comes to RAM and storage, go for the Nord CE. The phone is likely going to have the same amount as the OnePlus 9T (basic model), meaning 8GB + 128GB of storage.
OnePlus Nord CE 5G Display: Enough for most users
You will have to think twice when it comes to display, however. The 9T is going to ship with a FullHD+ screen with a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. The Nord CE 5G will likely have to stick with the 90Hz at a 6.4-inch screen.
Battery, you ask? Honestly, the Core Edition shouldn’t offer more than a 4500mAh cell but the OnePlus 9T is going to disappoint if it does the same. Here, a 5,000mAh battery and faster charging is expected.
Now cameras… here is the deal breaker. Hereis where the Nord CE and the OnePlus9T will be radically different. Why? Play the video above to find out!
