A new report comes with some very interesting details about the OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone, straight from OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. Yes, the Pro variant will have 5G support, as previously rumored.
The CEO also told the publication that the company spent “three times as much on its display this year as in previous models,” seemingly confirming the leaked OnePlus 7 specifications and a previous teaser tweet from Lau.
According to the leak, the OnePlus 7 Pro display will come with a 90Hz display, a 33 percent improvement over regular smartphones. A display like this will definitely make gamers take notice, as faster frame rates are one of the key components of a good gaming experience.
In early March, @OnLeaks tweeted what seem to be renders of the OnePlus 7 (not the Pro) and a listing from retailer Giztop that seemed to reveal everything there is to know about the device.
According to that leak, the OnePlus 7 comes with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, triple rear cameras and a 16 MP pop-up selfie shooter. For processing, it uses the flagship Snapdragon 855, while the juice is provided by a 4000 mAh battery.
Right now, OnePlus and its CEO are still in the teasing stage, so none of these specs are officially confirmed.
Fortunately, the new OnePlus 7 is set to launch this spring, so you won’t have to wait long for the official announcement.
