When showcasing new smartphones, companies often center their marketing campaigns around the camera. Whether this means higher megapixel count or AI beautification technology, we can always count on innovative smartphone cameras. OPPO, a Chinese consumer electronics company known for its Find X and R17 Pro smartphones, looks to follow this trend by showcasing its new 10x Hybrid Lossless Zoom Technology.
The 10x Hybrid Lossless Zoom Technology looks to bring more professional features to the smartphone camera. This technology will enable “super-wide angle, ultra-clear, and telephoto” capabilities for a triple camera arrangement. In other words, your smartphone will be able to take photos both super close-up and far away.
Additionally, the name of the technology suggests that the zoom will go up to 10x. This will allow smartphone cameras to take photos with focal length equivalents of about 15.9mm to 159mm. If this zoom is truly lossless as advertised, there will be no loss of quality when zooming.
To be announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, this technology is an advancement off of OPPO’s 5x lossless zoom technology showcased at MWC 2017. If introduced to a current or next generation smartphone, it will likely be implemented in OPPO’s next flagship phone (potentially called the OPPO Find X2).
In addition to their new 10x Hybrid Lossless Zoom Technology, OPPO might show off a new fingerprint sensor at MWC 2019 and have the F11 Pro around. Be sure to check back here for more on OPPO’s new technology!
