Oppo has published a patent with the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration), suggesting the manufacturer is working on a smartphone that slides vertically.

In an attempt to revolutionize the smartphone market and come up with breakthrough technology, Oppo has been making efforts to launch innovative devices that are in line with the latest tech advancements.

There’s no doubt that smartphones that fold and flip over are a huge trend nowadays, and many manufacturers have followed this wave.

Recently, Oppo has filed a brand new patent with the China Nationwide Mental Property Administration, revealing a series of pictures of the handset, but no info about its specs.
The sketches illustrate the compact sliding telephone that extends when it slides open, revealing about 40% more screen display.

When folded, the smartphone seems to have a 1:1 ratio, suggesting it may come in a compact square form.
