Phantom Thieves fans, the wait is finally over. Persona 5 Strikers will make its way to the US in 2021.
In an announcement trailer on the official Atlus West YouTube account, it was announced that Persona 5 Strikers would be getting an English localization. The game, a sequel to the much beloved Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal, brings back the Phantom Thieves during a reunion summer road trip across Japan. A new mysterious foe forces the team to don their masks once more to save the desires stolen from the people of Japan.
Unlike the original game, Persona 5 Strikers is a mashup of the Persona 5 world with musou-style gameplay à la Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Additionally, it was developed almost simultaneously with Persona 5 Royal, meaning events and characters in the game (namely, Kasumi Yoshizawa) will not appear.
This announcement comes about a year after game’s initial release in Japan, with many fans clamoring for an English-release. The game will also be released on Steam, likely a result of the massive success Persona 4 Golden had on the platform.
The game is set to release February 23rd, 2021 on Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam.
