Back in June, Segway intrigued us with the Drift W1 roller shoes and it was only now, during the IFA Berlin, that we got to see them up close and personal.
The e-skates in question are made of magnesium alloy, making them quite resistant and bringing their weight up to just 7Kg for the pair. They benefit from a rubber side bumper that will cushion the impact, in the case of an accident.
What they don’t have is a system that blocks the feet, which means that, when you use them, you will simply let them rest on the device. Keep that in mind for when you realize that the Segway Drift W1 can reach speeds of up to 12Kmh.
They have an IP54 certification, which allows them to tread bravely through both water and mud for a long time, since a single charge can get you 45 minutes of continuous skating.
During the IFA, Segway has specified that the device was designed for fun, rather than mobility, but they did have two e-skaters on display that showed the curious public just how easy it was to even dance while wearing them!
You can watch them in action in the video below.
