Love your VSCO app or any other similar to it? Then, you’ll be happy to know that there’s just one like that, but for video this time: Rtro.
Moment launched the VSCO-like video app this week for iOS. Rtro is a quick-to-use, user-friendly video app that uses your camera to record video and applies the filters of your choosing to it. From there, you’re free to share them on any social media app like Instagram, Snapchat and others.
The best part of it is the filters themselves, created by individuals, preserving their unique creative touch. Moment has worked with a community of creators to make them happen, like filmmakers and photographers. The idea is to keep growing this community to offer more and more filters to users, while helping creators make money from selling them.
Indeed, every filter is available for purchase at $2/piece. Alternatively, Rtro users can pay a $15 subscription annually to get access to every filter in the library and unlock special features. With the subscription, Rtro will allow you to chose the frame rates, play with the autofocus and disable the watermarks that come by default.
However, don’t fret – for starters, the app is free to download and if you don’t want to pay, you still get access to a couple of filters.
Of course, the filters can be adjusted in app. After selecting the one you want, through a left and right swipe, you can change the intensity by dragging up and down. Then, you’re free to record a minute of footage. The app itself was streamlined as much as possible and Moment is actually thinking of limiting how many filters that app includes so that users don’t get overloaded.
