Samsung has revealed the latest addition to the Galaxy A line today: the Galaxy A90 5G. While this is the fourth 5G smartphone the company has manufactured, it is its first mid-range device that supports the network.
“Samsung has worked tirelessly with our partners in the 5G ecosystem to bring 5G to as many people as possible, and now we are offering 5G connectivity across the entire Galaxy smartphone portfolio, giving more people high speed access and connected experiences.” DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics has said in a press release.
To begin with, the smartphone has a 6.7 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with an in-display fingerprint reader. A 32MP selfie camera that has a Live Focus Mode is set up in a cut-out. The back of the phone hosts a triple camera setup made out of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide as well as a 5MP depth sensor.
The cameras have features like Super Steady, Scene Optimizer and Flaw Detector.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy A90 5G will have lower lag-times and a more reliable and stable connectivity, which means that you will be able to watch live videos without any interruptions as well as not “miss a moment of that group video chat or critical moment in a game.” Thanks to the 5G connectivity, the smartphone’s Game Booster will also be running at optimum levels at all times.
The Galaxy A90 5G also comes with Samsung DeX support – the first A-series smartphone to do so. DeX allows the users to expand the experience of their device to either a PC screen or a TV. In addition to that, the Microsoft Your Phone app lets them mirror the phone’s display onto the desktop in order to check on notifications, send and receive messages and browse through recent photos.
In terms of design, the phone features a geometric patters on the back and will be available in Black and While color options. It will become available in South Korea as of tomorrow, September 4th and will expand to other markets later on.
