The 2017 tablet from Microsoft has shed the number from its name. At least, that’s what inside sources are letting us believe. As for Microsoft, the company has been tight-lipped about the product, suggesting only that there will be no Surface Pro 5 to speak of. Hence, the next in line after Surface Pro 4 should be called Surface Pro. Much more to the point, we know.
So, what about the specs and design? The first are still everybody’s guess, but we do have a design update thanks to VentureBeat. Press renders have revealed the overall look of the tablet. It’s nothing earth-shattering, mind you. The tablet looks very similar to its predecessor; you can see the same design language. Its accessories – stylus, keyboard, mouse – will come in a variety of colors, though:

So, what will differentiate Surface Pro? Its internals, clearly. Are they going to be worth upgrading to this gadget? You’ll have to see next week, at the Microsoft announcement in Shanghai.
