You’ve just moved to a new city or are visiting a friend that relocated. You don’t know the neighbourhood at all and dangers lie at every corner. Instead of relying on pure luck as you make your way to the house after dark, checking in app RedZone Map might save your life #mobilemagic
While Waze shows you how to avoid traffic jams, RedZone is a navigation app that helps you find safe routes far away from high-crime areas. By combining “crime data from government agencies with reports from its community of users”, the app is able to show you in real time what neighbourhood areas are notorious for car jackings, muggings and shootings.
Based on color codes, you can differentiate between crimes and read the comments other users posted related to those events. If you’ve witnessed anything illegal going on that could endanger other people’s lives, you can also drop a “crime pin”. Also, RedZone Map offers an interesting risky route if you’re want to save the city like any a secret superhero.
The app is currently available for iOS but will come to Android soon.
