Taking your gaming PC to the next level?
At Computex 2022, Nvidia and Asus revealed the world’s first 500Hz G-Sync monitor.
The Asus ROG Swift 500Hz monitor is designed with esports in mind and has a 24-inch panel for games running at 1080p.
Considering that PC gamers typically choose 144Hz monitors and, despite being on the market for some time, 240Hz panels are still rare, it’s clear that 500Hz is designed for a very niche, very competitive gamer type.
To demonstrate just how significant that refresh rate improvement is, Nvidia used a Phantom VEO 640S motion camera to record Valorant gameplay at 1,000 fps. You can see from the video that the animations are smoother and ghosting is reduced.
The Asus Rog Swift 500Hz also uses a new esports TN (E-TN) technology which, according to Asus, brings “60 percent better response times than standard TN panels.”
