Good surveillance is a must, yes. But what if you could have an interactive security camera that goes beyond keeping your home safe and delivers… companionship? This is what Ulo does.
Created by Luxembourg-based Mu Design, Ulo is a surveillance camera with an owl shape and two big (and cute) interactive LCD eyes. There are two lenses — an HD camera and a motion sensor camera – camouflaged by a one-way mirrored glass that are meant to follow your movements and capture high-resolution images.
The cute security camera was recently presented by Mu Design founder Vivien Muller, at Computex. The founder said he aimed to create a security device that gives users happy feelings, like the ones you have when taking in a pet.
Ulo does come close to being the most adorable gadget, doesn’t it?
The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 series processor and it features an internal microphone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as an orientation sensor. To recharge your buddy you can use NiMH rechargeable batteries or just a standard micro USB charger. The camera also features 8GB eMMC and a microSD card slot.
To manage your Ulo, you can use its iOS or Android app. If the security camera catches any unusual moment it will send images to your email, or deliver info to secure devices when requested.
All units have been sold, since the Ulo is a dream come true for parents. However, it can still be pre-ordered for about $220.
