FeelReal announced their FeelReal Sensory Mask just earlier this week – the device promises to bring the users an enhanced VR experience by delivering a sense of smell.

The company states that the mask communicates via Bluetooth or WiFi and is compatible with Samsung’s Gear VR, the Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, HTC Vive and the PlayStation VR. The mask can be attached to any of these headsets with magnets.

It comes with no less than 255 different scents available, but it can only deliver nine of them at the same time and the cartridges can be changed, according to what experience you’re trying to achieve.

Among these scents we can count burning rubber, gunpowder, lavender or roses, all of them created with non-toxic chemicals that we can commonly find in the food industry.

In addition to the sense of smell, the mask can deliver other inputs as well: water mist created by the ultrasonic ionizing system or heat, created by micro heaters. There’s also micro coolers that can help you experience a mountain breeze while the force-feedback haptic motors will go off in order to recreate impact.

The mask can be used for movies, FeelReal dreams, VR games, meditation or aromatherapy, all controlled via the mobile app.

At the moment, FeelReal is trying to bring the mask to Kickstarter and turn it into a reality.
