Coming fall, we’ve got one thing on our minds: new gadgets! But what are Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook’s thoughts on the subject? Apparently, plenty of experiments with augmented reality and indispensable smartphones for their AI capabilities #mobilemagic
In an interview for the Washington Post, Cook said he’s certain people will continue to consume smartphones like warm bread thanks to manufacturers’ perpetual interest in AI learning and predicting abilities. “AI will make this product even more essential to you,” is convinced Cook. As technologies develop, the market will get at an impressive “level of performance [that] is going to skyrocket, and there’s nothing that’s going to replace it in the short or in the intermediate term.”
Indeed, we can’t see a near future without smartphones. Meanwhile, Apple is starting to realize the same thing when it comes to augmented reality. After the Pokemon Go phenomenon, the company hinted that it was starting to look into AR and now Cook has put his cards on the table. “I think AR [augmented reality] is extremely interesting and sort of a core technology. So, yes, it’s something we’re doing a lot of things on behind that curtain“, he replied to the interviewer’s question.
