According to the  Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a UK-based counter-extremist organization, Facebook’s algorithm actively promotes Holocaust denial.

The organization indicated the fact that if a user types in the Facebook search the word holocaust, the function will almost always bring up suggestions for denial pages. ISD also acknowledged the fact that these types of Facebook groups are a septic pit of recommended links to less the savory revisionist and denial articles.

The report is not helping Facebook’s public image, as mounting international demands from Holocaust survivors, towards Zuckerberg, are ramping up, to remove any related material. ISD found 36 Facebook groups with 366,068 followers dedicated to Holocaust denial.

Facebook is under heavy siege, just last week, the social media banned any conspiracy theories about Jewish people controlling the world and its making strides towards eradicating fake news in the user’s news feed.

“Facebook’s decision to allow Holocaust denial content to remain on its platform is framed, under the guise of protecting legitimate historical debate, but this misses the reason why people engage in Holocaust denial in the first place. Denial of the Holocaust is a deliberate tool used to delegitimize the suffering of the Jewish people and perpetuate long-standing antisemitic tropes, and when people explicitly do this it should be seen as an act of hatred,”
