You Can Now Unlock Lincoln’s 2020 Navigator With Your Phone

Lincoln

The new Lincoln Navigator is coming in 2020 with more standard features and some new looks, too.
The luxury SUV’s coolest feature to come on standard models is the Phone As Key functionality.

Part of the Lincoln Way mobile app, this new feature allows the driver to lock and unlock the doors, open the tailgate, and start the engine – replacing the traditional key fob. Tesla and Volvo already have a similar feature available, Hyundai also plans to launch phone-as-key tech on the 2020 Sonata later this year. However, this feature isn’t mainstream just yet.

Other standard features for the 2020 Lincoln Navigator will include power running boards, heated and ventilated front seats, and wireless phone charging. These were previously available as optional extras or on premium trims.

The new luxury SUV will get Ford’s CoPilot360 bundle of advanced driver-assist systems. This package of safety features includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pre-collision assist, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage, rear-view camera, and automatic high-beam headlights.

For those more interested in looks rather than what’s under the hood, the 2020 Lincoln Navigator will be available with a new Monochromatic Package. The models will be available in Pristine White, Ceramic Pearl and Infinite Black. As the manufacturer states, the new color package will “reflect the minimalistic color trend popular in fashion and home decor, where variations of a single hue result in a smooth yet vibrant color scheme that’s easy on the eyes.”

As far as the engine goes, the 2020 Navigator will continue to be powered by a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic and either rear- or all-wheel drive. Like the Ford F-150 and Expedition, the Navigator has an aluminum body to save weight. The material cuts around 200 pounds when compared to the conventional steel body, according to Lincoln.

The 2020 Lincoln Navigator is set to make its way to dealerships in November. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
