Urbanista unveiled a pair of solar charging earbuds, a rare feature for most consumer devices and possibly the first for wireless buds.
At first glance, the Urbanista Phoenix earbuds look like any old pair of earbuds but the charging case is actually solar-powered.
While the Urbanista Phoenix offers a total of 32 hours of playback time, the company says that the playback can increase by around an hour for every hour spent in direct sunlight.
Considering you could have the case hanging from your backpack or just out in the sun whenever you’re trying to catch some vitamin D, that’s a great way to keep the party going in your buds.
As for the regular features of the Urbanista Phoenix, these earbuds reflect their mid-range pricing.
Beyond the 32-hour battery life expandable with solar charging, they have active noise cancellation with transparency mode, the ability to pair with two devices simultaneously, support for Bluetooth 5.2, a regular charging port using USB-C, and IPX4 water resistance.
The Urbanista Phoenix will be available later this year in black and pick options and will retail for $149.
