Nex is next for Vivo, one of China’s top mobile manufacturers. The OEM is getting ready to launch two new flagships this week, borrowing some of the features that made the Mi Mix devices so cool!
On June 12, Vivo is set to launch in China Nex and Nex S. Both will use ultrasonic tech for proximity sensing and a piezoelectric ceramic system for the earpiece which made Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2 stand out from the crowd. Design-wise, the phones will sport the almost invisible bezels on three sides, with a thicker one at the bottom.
Another thing you’ll be glad to notice is that Vivo is about to push their in-display fingerprint sensor on the market yet again, Nex S featuring it. On the standard Nex you’ll find it on the rear of the device.
Both phones will have a 6.59-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with a ratio of 19:9 and run Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top.
What’s under the hood? The standard Nex will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC with 6Gb of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, the S version will boast a Snapdragon 845 chip with a huge 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The differences end here. Whether you opt for a classic Nex or a S(pecial) Nex model , you’ll get to test a dual camera of 12MP +5MP and LED flash and take selfies with an 8MP pop-up cam.
Vivo has equipped both handsets with 4,000mAh battery cells with Quick Charge support and 3.5mm audio jacks.
At launch, Vivo Nex will cost around CNY 3,798, while Nex S will go for CNY 4,498.
Of course, we’re expecting to see them up close at the end of the month at MWC Shanghai (27-29 June)!
