Apple just released iOS 15, a major update with great features, designed to improve the iPhone experience.

As part of the update, Wallet adds support for home keys and ID cards, and the app now features a bunch of new partners including hotel and domestic lock manufacturers such as Hyatt, Evergreen, Latch, Schlage and Assa Abloy.

“For many customers, iPhone has become indispensable, and this year we’ve created even more ways it can enhance our daily lives,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “iOS 15 helps users stay connected while sharing experiences in real time, gives them new tools to help reduce distraction and find focus, uses intelligence to enhance the photos experience, and, with huge upgrades to Maps, brings new ways to explore the world. We can’t wait for customers to experience it,” the company’s spokesperson added.

Through the enhanced Wallet, users will soon be able to receive a digital key to their hotel room when it’s available and they could even open the door to their house due to the UWB support. Even better, removing the phone from their bag won’t be necessary. Of course, unlocking the car is already available as the UWB support is already available for Apple Car Key.

The company also announced that the Transportation Security Administration is going to enable airport security checkpoints as the first place customers can use their digital Identity Card in Wallet, with the Secure Element support system that makes Apple Pay private and secure.
