Waze Now Guides Motorcycle Riders Through Voice Commands

Popular navigation app Waze has added three new features that will help it gain even more driver fans. For one, it addresses bikers now, too; secondly, it takes voice commands so you won’t have to take your hands off the wheel to check the route ahead or change destination mid-journey #automagic

Until this week, those that travelled by motorcycle had to rely on Waze’s indications for cars. Well, not anymore; the app has added motorcycle support. What does that mean? It can now offer recommendations for the best route to follow by checking other motorcyclists alerts and feedback.

Also, Waze claims it has gotten better at estimating arrival times for them. But the best thing is that the new mode makes it possible for the program to come up with alternative routes that are appropriate only for two-wheeled vehicles.

If you’re a car owner, you’ll still find the new update useful. “OK Waze” rolled out, meaning you can change your destination or request info by using a voice command like “take me home” or “what’s my next turn?”. That said, the feature is for now available only in US, Canada and UK.

Waze claims to also be the first navigation app to include carpool lanes as route options. You’ll be able to take advantage of them if you live in US or one of these three Canadian cities: Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.
