The launch of Microsoft’s newest OS, Windows 11, is right around the corner on October 5th. And with it comes a lot of gamer-friendly updates bound to make PC gamers excited to upgrade.
As outlined in a Windows Blog post, Windows 11 will be bringing two major features to the system which will make the PC gaming experience that much nicer.
First, the Microsoft Store will be refreshed with a new design that will make it “easier to search and discover… favorite apps, games, shows, and movies in one trusted location.” This will likely include games from the Xbox Game Store.
Second, Windows 11 will use Xbox Series X technology in order to bring out the full potential of any PC device. Microsoft will be employing DirectX12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and Auto HDR technology to create a playing environment on any PC that makes the most of Microsoft’s technological advancements. While different from Xbox Cloud Gaming, it is similar in how PCs without the best specs will still be able to play some of Xbox Game Pass’s more taxing games.
