It looks like Xiaomi is about to release the first smartphone with 5G connectivity in the Redmi Series. The Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G are set to be announced by Xiaomi on November 24, during an event in China.
Nothing is officially confirmed, not even the name of the devices, but a large number of leaks on Weibo point in the same direction – a Xiaomi duo with 5G connectivity, four cameras, and big batteries will be launched on November 24.
The upcoming device is rumored to be powered by a Dimensity 800U chipset and will come with 5,000 mAh battery and a 48MP triple camera.
The Pro version will pack a Snapdragon 750G chipset, have more RAM, and hold a 108MP main camera. Also, for this series, up to seven different paint jobs were certified.
The same leaks state that the Redmi Note 9 5G will be priced at CNY999 (about $150) while the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will cost CNY1,499 (approximately $230).
It’s less than a week away when we will find out if all these specs are accurate.
